I am completely overwhelmed right now! The Lord has been providing in so many different ways and I am totally blown away!! The Lord has provided right at $5000 in just 3 short weeks of fund raising.
Last Monday was the concert at Cpaws. Friends Ashley and Shelia Miguez, who teach in the School of Fine Arts at CBC, opened the show and rocked it out with “Me and My Bobby McGhee.” I loved it! Following Ashley and Shelia was Pete, Seth and Boudreaux. They blew the roof off with good ol “Walkin in Memphis” and some John Mayer. We ended the night with a great prayer time and a little Shane and Shane, “You Said.” It was a great way to end the evening! I was absolutely shocked by the support that was shown by ladies who cooked desserts and youth who offered their time to help sell the desserts and drinks and so many who came early and helped set up and collect money… I cannot say thank you enough!!! The Lord blessed those efforts and over $900 was raised!!
In about 6 weeks I will board the plane to South Africa and the excitement is building!! I have had the opportunity to share some stories in some amazing Sunday school classes at Crossgates and will possibly be speaking in some other churches in the near future. Please keep me in your prayers as the time continues to draw nearer!
I am truly excited for you. Sad but happy. Truly hope this is the Lords will for your life. Knowing you for 27 plus years and all the trials you have been through I feel like the Lord will keep you in his care. I will never forget the evening at Emmanuel Baptist Church when you talked to "The Bull". Remember him? You were so young but VERY WISE, according to him. I am sure that we were all unaware, the Lord had his hand on you at that young age. You were 4 or 5. I can't remember!
ReplyDeleteThe people "supporting" you does not surprise me. All the "trials" you had in middle school helps me understand what a tight hold the Lord has on you. You may not understand exactly what I mean with all of this but the Lord and I do!!
I love you Leigh Ann
"Thanks" to all the people at CROSSGATES for believing in your desire to serve.
Love, Mom
